The Powell Street Festival takes place on the traditional, unceded and occupied territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
Powell Street Festival Society (PSFS) has launched our 2023 Winter Care Package Fundraiser with a goal to raise $10,000 to assemble and distribute 300 Winter Care Packages to unhoused and precariously housed people in the Downtown Eastside (Paueru Gai/Powell Street neighbourhood).
The Winter Care Package project is an initiative of PSFS’ year-round DTES Community Care Programs – our grassroots efforts to enhance the community’s wellbeing by supporting those facing complex barriers including poverty, racism, mental illness, housing precarity, and addiction. It is our fourth Care Package project since 2020.
All proceeds from the fundraiser directly support the Winter Care Packages and DTES Community Care Programs. With your cash donation, we will ensure snacks, hygiene products and warm winter essentials get into the hands of vulnerable neighbours.

Donations can be made in honour of friends and family, or in lieu of holiday presents. Our Powell Street Festival tote appreciation gifts can be delivered directly to the honouree or giftee. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) below for more information.

FAQ
Any amount is greatly appreciated. Donations of $50 or more will support one or more Winter Care Packages and will receive an appreciation gift (optional).
They will be filled with personal hygiene products, handwarmers, snacks, hot beverage mixes, socks, gloves, and other winter essentials. Downtown Eastside community members participated in selecting the contents.
They will be assembled and distributed to Downtown Eastside groups and residents in the new year.
Yes! Donations made in increments of $50 will receive one or more appreciation gifts.
There are three options:
1 – Local pick up – you can pick up your gift at our Downtown/Gastown office (Mon-Fri 10am-5pm). If you select this option, please send pick up time and date to info(at)powellstreetfestival(dot)com.
2 – Shipped to you – you can have you gift delivered to the address provided in the donation form (under Donor & Tax Receipt Information).
3 – Shipped to an alternative mailing address – you can have it shipped to an alternative address. Please send the instructions/mailing address to info(at)powellstreetfestival(dot)com.

Yes! We encourage online contributions through the secure donation form, but cash and cheque donations are just as appreciated. Please drop off or send to: #410-111 W. Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 1H4. If you wish to receive an appreciation gift, please also indicate the mailing address to which it should be sent.
