Come learn about Tanabata and its associated constellations at a special show produced in collaboration with the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. Miho Wakai, a UBC Physics Grad Student, will guide us through the story of Tanabata and the legend of star-crossed lovers with special visuals by curator Raymond Nakamura. The purchase of tickets includes time to browse the Cosmic Courtyard gallery before the show (doors open at 6:30pm), a tour to the Observatory (8:00 – 11:00pm), and shows in the Planetarium Star Theatre.
Miho Wakai (she/her/hers) is a PhD student at University of British Columbia. Her research involves searching for dark matter at the Belle II experiment located in Tsukuba, Japan.
Raymond Nakamura, Ph.D., is a third generation Japanese Canadian, author of the picture book Peach Girl, develops educational materials, and posts daily cartoons @raymondsbrain on Instagram (www.raymondsbrain.com)
