Kokuho Rose (later ‘Prohibited’) was formed sometime in 1977, the exact origins lost in the mist of time. There is a clear link to the 1977 Japanese Canadian Centennial and Tonari Gumi. Various musicians have played with the group over the years, consisting of Japanese and Chinese Canadians. Born and raised in the diaspora, they were fed primarily on a diet of American folk and blues. These influences form the foundation of their repertoire, spiced up with a handful of originals. 

コクホ・ローズ（後に「プロフィビティッド 」）が結成されたのは1977年のことで、正確な起源は時の霧の中で失われてしまいました。1977年の日系カナダ人100周年と隣組には明確なつながりがあります。日系カナダ人と中国系カナダ人で構成されるこのグループには、長年にわたって様々なミュージシャンが参加してきました。ディアスポラとして生まれ育った彼らは、主にアメリカン・フォークとブルースで育ちました。これらの影響が彼らのレパートリーの基礎となっており、ほんの少しのオリジナルがスパイスとなっています。
