Poet, essayist, and artist Erica H Isomura will be joined by author and journalist Emi Sasagawa for a literary reading of Sasagawa’s debut novel, Atomweight, which was recently listed in CBC’s 86 works of Canadian fiction to read in the first half of 2023. This will be followed by a conversation about writing genres, identity, and Sasagawa’s creative process.
詩人、エッセイスト、アーティストのエリカ・H・イソムラさんが、作家でジャーナリストのエミ・ササガワさんとともに、笹川さんのデビュー小説『 Atomweight（アトム級）』の朗読会を開催します。この小説は最近、CBCが選ぶ２０２３年上半期のカナダの読むべき小説８６作品に選ばれました。朗読会の後は、ジャンルやアイデンティティの面での執筆について、さらにササガワさんの創作プロセスについての対話を予定しています。

Emi Sasagawa is a settler, immigrant, and queer woman of colour, living and writing on the stolen territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Selilwitulh Nations. Her debut novel Atomweight, published by Tidewater Press, explores identity and belonging through the lenses of mixedness, queerness, oppression, and privilege.

Erica H Isomura is a writer and artist of Chinese and yonsei Japanese descent living in Tkarón:to/Toronto, ON.  Erica is currently working on a collection of poems and essays and a graphic project exploring fragmented Japanese Canadian memory.
エリカ・H・イソムラは、中国と日系４世の血を引く作家でありアーティストで、オンタリオ州トロントに住んでいます。現在、エリカは詩やエッセイのコレクション、および分断された日系カナダ人の記憶を探求するグラフィックプロジェクトに取り組んでいます。
