  • 1:00pm at Carnegie Community Centre Gym (2nd floor, 401 Main Street)
  • 3:00pm at Oppenheimer Park (488 Powell Street, between Jackson and Dunlevy, Powell and Cordova)

Join us as Doug Masuhara of Tetsu Taiko teaches the Tanko Bushi (Coal Miners’ Dance), the traditional Japanese Folk Dance that we do every year at the Powell Street Festival on the Saturday in the late afternoon. At the Festival, everyone is encouraged to join in. This year, you could be ahead of the game and learn the dance BEFORE the Festival! Then, you can help show other participants at the Festival how to do the dance too!
