Powell Street Festival Society: Work Safety Plan

OVERVIEW

  • The safety of all Powell Street Festival Society (PSFS) staff, board, participants and volunteers is of utmost priority.
  • PSFS has developed COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of all staff, board, participants and volunteers, as well as to prevent the spread of Covid-19
  • This guide is shared amongst everyone (online and in person)

GENERAL // WHAT TO DO ABOUT SAFETY

  • Post our COVID-19 Safety Plan and other related policies or procedures for workers (e.g., cast and crew) on PSFS’ website, on the set, and in both the administrative and production office.
  • Establish policies restricting access to the worksite for those who are sick, who have travelled from outside of Canada, or who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19. Ensure cast and crew have a process for identifying if they have developed symptoms. Symptoms include fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, loss of speech and/or movement
  • Include COVID-19 education in daily safety talks and meetings. COVID-19 protocols are to be communicated to workers prior to their arrival on site.
  • Provide digital documents, production schedules, and contracts when possible.
  • To facilitate communication between departments and workers while maintaining physical distancing, use devices such as two-way radios, mobile technology, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Limit or restrict visitors to sets, studios, and post-production facilities. Only pre-arranged personnel may be in production facilities.
  • Identify workers who may be able to work remotely or from home for portions of preparation, shoot, or wrap.
  • Where possible, stagger work schedules to reduce the number of workers required at a location at any given time.
  • Consider establishing small working groups (or cohorts) that work together routinely and exclusively to reduce the risk of broader transmission. Examples may include small groups or teams that require closer contact for filming or rehearsal, or dividing a large set into teams based on department.
  • Any changes in COVID-19 protocols to be communicated with all staff, board and participants.
  • Encourage to use personal items when possible: Personal stationary, computers, cups etc.
