Tashme Project: The Living Archives, a theatrical retelling of stories from the Tashme internment camp is currently running at Great Canadian Theatre Company and the show has been receiving great reviews!

Matt Miwa and Julie Tamiko Manning originally presented a reading of this work at the Festival in 2011 to great acclaim and we are hoping to bring the final presentation sometime in the near future.

If you live in Ottawa, Tashme Project is a must-see!

“Sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, the stories recreate the confusion, the resilience, the shame that comprised – and still does – the lives of the interned.
Manning and Miwa have shown that the past does matter and that voices, if sought out, can always be found again.”

From Ottawa Citizen

“What is most striking in The Tashme Project are the voices.
Powerful stories, told well. Opening night was well attended. Get your tickets early. Bring your teenagers. Schedule time after the show to talk with them.”

From Apt 613

“The Tashme Project was a wonderful play, and I highly recommend it. I wanted to hear more, to learn more. Each story had something to offer, and I didn’t want the night to end.”
