Yewchi performs a unique hybrid of North American roots music and jazz, reinterpreted through Japanese aesthetics with a focus on space, texture, and harmony. Through master-level flatpicking, he weaves melody, bass, and rhythm simultaneously on a single guitar, creating a full, expressive sound without loopers or backing tracks. Vancouver-based guitarist, recording artist, and educator, Yewchi explores instrumental storytelling, acoustic texture, and human-centered musical presence. Yewchi is a Vancouver-based guitarist and instructor at Rufus Guitar Shop, known for his work with Juno Award-winner Gabriel Mark Hasselbach.
