Demonstrations will be held on Sunday from 1:30pm to 2:00pm in the Vancouver Buddhist Temple.

The Vancouver Ikebana Association (VIA) is a non-profit organization which features Ikebana floral arrangement displays and demonstrations. Ikebana, the Japanese word for flower arrangement, is based on certain principles of art which are recognized the world over. The love of lines, so characteristic of all Oriental art rather than the appreciation of form and colour, is perhaps the most salient feature in differentiating Japanese flower arrangement from all others.  

The VIA is an association of teachers and students from five Ikebana schools that are active in the lower mainland. They conduct classes, demonstrations, workshops, and displays at exhibitions during various community and cultural events throughout the year. The main principle of Ikebana is harmony. They aim to achieve harmony when working with various components of our floral arrangements, as well as striving for harmony when dealing with all sorts of human relationships.  

バンクーバー生け花協会（VIA）は、生け花のアレンジメント展示やデモンストレーションを主として活動する非営利団体です。いけばなとは花のアレンジメントを意味する日本語で、世界中で認められている芸術の理に基づいています。形や色彩よりも、線を愛しむという東洋芸術全般に特徴的なことが、他の花のアレンジメントと日本のいけばなを区別する最も顕著な特徴かもしれません。 

VIAは、ローワーメインランドで活動する5つのいけばな教室の講師と生徒からなる団体です。年間を通して様々なコミュニティや文化イベントの際に、講習会、デモンストレーション、ワークショップ、展示会などを行っています。生け花の大原則は「調和」です。フラワーアレンジメントを構成するさまざまな要素の調和を目指すとともに、さまざまな人間関係の調和も目指しています。
