Landscapes of Home explores the lives of two doctors in the mid-20th century: Henry Shibata, a Japanese Canadian born in Vancouver, and Stuart Cooper Robinson, a Canadian born in Nagoya, Japan. Their lives are upended by WWII when Shibata is interned in the Rockies, while Robinson is forced to leave his longtime home in Japan. The documentary follows their transformative journeys, capturing the resilience shaped by displacement. Through their stories, it offers a new perspective on the Japanese Canadian experience and reimagines the meaning of home amid war and loss.
