paueru gaizette no. 7

Pauerugai zette #7 Hatsuhinode
The seventh edition of the paueru gaizette is now available digitally!

Previously released in February, the theme of the seventh edition is 初日の出 (Hatsuhinode). Hatsuhinode, the first sunrise of the year, marks a moment to resolve the previous year.

This edition is a heartfelt reflection on the previous year from our community. Featuring many touching submissions about the late Grace Eiko Thompson, the beloved activist, writer, and community matriarch who sadly passed away last year.
Also included are other reflections on Japanese Canadian art & community, a crossword by Megan Kiyoko Wray, a colouring page, the return of Sushi Pizza by Ella Tani, and much more.

All editions of the zine will be available in limited supply by donation at the 49th Annual Powell St Festival on Aug 2nd & 3rd 2025.

Special thanks to Tadaima Collective for making this community zine possible.
