For over 60 years, the GVJCCA has served the Japanese Canadian community in various ways – initially serving JCs returning to the coast after internment and connecting with new immigrants from Japan, later forming the Redress Committee to help fight for and achieve Redress, and later still, providing the beginnings of groups that would emerge as other JC organizations, including the National Nikkei Heritage Centre Society and the Japanese Canadian National Museum Society – which are now the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre (NNMCC).

More recently, the JCCA has been known for its active Human Rights Committee, The Bulletin, and its annual golf tournament. As we enter a new phase of the organization, the newly elected Board is asking for input from the community in our efforts to reinvigorate the organization and create a vision for the coming years. Current Board members have their own ideas about the future of the JCCA but we would like to know what goals and priorities the broader community thinks we should try to include in our work.

We hope that you will join us for an afternoon of history and visioning to help decide the direction that the JCCA will take in the next few years.
