DTES Grocery Delivery Programs

Powell Street Festival Society is proud to be able to support the Downtown Eastside (DTES) community in which we gather and celebrate every year. As part of our ongoing Community Care Programs, we collaborate on the Chinatown Grocery Program and DTES Indigenous Elders Grocery Program, which altogether deliver groceries to 190 underserved elders and SRO tenants per week, thanks to the SRO Collaborative and the Ho family.

We want to extend our gratitude to Bing Ho, Justin Ho, Carmen Kwan, Susan and Kennely Ho, Wen and Sharon Wong, Philomena Kan, Sim Ang, Simpson Ma, and Nora Ma for their ongoing support of these programs.

PSFS envisions positive social change through Japanese Canadian art and culture and celebrates our connection to the historic neighbourhood of Paueru Gai (the DTES). We are grateful to our individual and monthly donors, sponsors, members, community partners, volunteers and festival-goers for supporting our mission of celebrating Japanese Canadian art and culture to connect communities.
