DOXA 2024
Between Pictures: The Lens of Tamio Wakayama | Sunday, May 5th at 4:15pm | The Cinematheque
Powell Street Festival Society is proud to be a Community Partner of the DOXA Documentary Film Festival.
DOXA will be screening three Japanese Canadian and Japanese films this month:
- Between Pictures: The Lens of Tamio Wakayama
- Black Box Diaries
- We Don’t Care About Music Anyway…
Please support local artist and filmmaker, Cindy Mochizuki’s, debut documentary, “Between Pictures: The Lens of Tamio Wakayama,” by attending the screening at The Cinematheque on Sunday, May 5th at 4:15pm, followed with a Q&A moderated by Alejandro Yoshizawa, Assistant Professor of Film, Video Production and Media Arts at University of Fraser Valley’s School of Creative Arts. Tamio was a Powell Street Festival founder volunteer and his involvement in the American Civil Rights Movement profoundly influenced the work that we do. We are grateful that a wider audience will have access to his story thanks to DOXA. For more information about the films, please visit: https://doxa2024.eventive.org/welcome
