Katori Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu · 香取神道流剣術

Katori Shinto-Ryu Kenjutsu is a classical martial art focusing on sword fighting techniques. They train to fight with traditional samurai weapons, including long and short swords, fighting staff, spears, and naginata (halberd). Modern kendo and iaido were born from the older schools of kenjutsu, but their techniques are practiced in their unmodified forms and the focus is on the complete warrior who can utilize all weapons in practical combat at full speed.

香取神道流剣術は伝統的な武術で、稽古では長刀、短刀、棒、槍、薙刀（なぎなた）を含む武士の武器を用いた戦術に重点を置きます。現代の剣道や居合道は剣術の古い流派から発達しましたが、この流派の特徴は、実戦を念頭に置き、武士さながらの素早い攻撃を訓練することです。
