Kyudo is the art of Japanese Archery. It originates from ancient warfare, but nowadays it is performed with slower, deliberate movements, creating harmony within oneself in this fast-paced world. The Vancouver Kyudo Club is a non-profit organization and has been doing Kyudo at the Vancouver Japanese Language School and Japanese Hall (VJLS-JH) since 2005. They will first be demonstrating Taihai, a standard testing form with 5 archers. Then they will demonstrate techniques used with beginner students, using a rubber bow and close-distance targets (Makiwara). Then they will demonstrate a type of ceremonial shooting, called Hitotsumato Sharei. This is performed by several of our most experienced members and instructor Mike Nakatsu. 

日本の弓術である弓道は古代の戦闘を起源としています。、急速に移り変わる現代において、緩徐かつ慎重に行われる弓道の一連の動作は、自己の中に調和を生み出してくれます。バンクーバー弓道クラブは非営利団体であり、2005年からバンクーバー日本語学校で活動しています。まず、5人の射手による標準的な試験形式の「体配」を披露します。次に、初心者がよく行うゴム弓と近距離の的（巻藁）を使った技術を披露します。そして、最も経験豊富なメンバーと指導者のマイク・ナカツによる「一つ的射礼」と呼ばれる儀式的な射撃を披露します。
