Pico Masaki, Seira Hayakashi, and Yujiro Nakajima make up Kotojiro with Cosei, a koto/guzheng, guitar/ukulele, and piano trio with an eclectic repertoire of traditional, folk, Latin, new age, and world music (originals and covers). By incorporating the koto (known as guzheng in China), a traditional Asian instrument, into contemporary music, as well as playing it alongside ubiquitous Western instruments, the guitar and the piano, Kotojiro with Cosei shows how traditions from different cultures can be adapted for modern styles and be combined to perform together, maintaining and continuing connections to the past. 

Pico Masaki is a singer songwriter and a koto/guzheng player who seeks to express the beauty of Japanese culture, full of zen and refinement. Seira Hayakashi has studied piano at the University of Victoria and holds a Bachelor of Music. She played keyboard in the rock band “Cherry Cola” with Tal Backman (Victoria, B.C.), who is best known for his late 1999 hit, “She’s So High.” Yujiro Nakajima has been playing Brazilian music and jazz as a soloist and with groups at various venues and has been a regular performer at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. 

ピコ・マサキ、セイラ・ハヤカシ、ユウジロウ・ナカジマの3人によるコトジロウとコセイは、伝統音楽、民族音楽、ラテン音楽、ニューエイジ音楽、ワールドミュージック（オリジナルとカバー）など、多彩なレパートリーを持つ琴／古筝、ギター／ウクレレ、ピアノのトリオです。アジアの伝統楽器である箏（中国では古筝として知られる）を現代音楽に取り入れ、また、どこにでもある西洋楽器であるギターやピアノと一緒に演奏することで、コトジロウとコセイは、異なる文化の伝統がいかに現代的なスタイルに適応し、また、過去とのつながりを維持し、継続させながら、一緒に演奏することができるかを示しています。 

ピコ・マサキはシンガーソングライターであり、箏・古箏奏者として、禅と洗練に満ちた日本文化の美を表現しようとしています。セイラ・ハヤカシはビクトリア大学でピアノを学び、音楽学士号を取得しました。1999年末のヒット曲 『She’s So High』で知られるタル・バックマン（ビクトリア州）とのロックバンド 『Cherry Cola』でキーボードを担当しています。ユウジロウ・ナカジマは、ブラジル音楽とジャズをソロやグループで様々な会場で演奏しており、バンクーバー国際ジャズフェスティバルの常連でもあります。
