The Powell Street Festival takes place on the traditional, unceded and occupied territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
Getting to the Festival and Accessibility
The Powell Street Festival takes place in Oppenheimer Park and surrounding areas in Paueru Gai (Powell Street), centered around the 400 block of Powell St. between Dunlevy Ave and Jackson Ave.
PSF is located near the Alexander St. Cycling Route, and a free bike valet operated by B.E.S.T. is available.

We expect 20,000 people over the weekend—please note that it will be crowded, and that food line-ups will be long.
Free, clean drinking water is available on-site (see map). Bring your water bottle!
Gender-neutral portable toilets, hand washing stations, and wheelchair accessible portable toilets, plus one baby change table, are on-site (see map).
Accessible seating areas are at each performance venue. A Senior’s Tent with priority seating is in front of the Diamond Stage.
The first aid station is on-site (see map). Some volunteers and staff are trained in naloxone administration. If you see a used needle on the ground, please alert someone on our Hospitality and Security team (or anyone with a radio) for safe disposal. For a list of safe consumption sites, please click here.
No alcohol is served on-site.

Hospitality and Security volunteers help to ensure everyone feels safe and welcome. If you witness or experience distress or discrimination, this team can assist with de-escalation and accessing resources. They will be wearing an orange hachimaki.
You can alternatively find an Ambassador if you need assistance.
Have a question? Look out for our friendly Festival Ambassadors stationed throughout the site wearing bright blue happi vests and carrying a radio. Ambassadors have great knowledge of the festival, and if they don’t know the answer to your question, they’ll have a radio handy to call for assistance.

Accessibility & Programming プログラムについて
Japanese-speaking MCs are present at various stages, and Japanese programming can be identified with an icon in our Festival Schedule. Staff and volunteers who speak multiple languages have this noted on their nametag.
ASL interpretation is available for some events. See our Festival Schedule for more details. Potential content and audio-visual triggers are listed for most events.

Venue Information 会場情報
In addition to Oppenheimer Park, festival programming also takes place at three neighbouring indoor venues.
- Firehall Arts Centre – 280 E Cordova St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1L3
- The main theatre is accessible via the side door on Gore Avenue, access to this door can be requested from the box office via a ramp at the front of the building, or by calling (604) 689-0926. Accessible bathrooms are available backstage. The Firehall Courtyard can be accessed upon request via gate access.
- Vancouver Buddhist Temple – 220 Jackson Ave, Vancouver, BC V6A 3B3
- There are several steps at the entrance of the Buddhist Temple, and no ramps at this time. Public bathrooms are not available at this venue.
- Vancouver Japanese Language School – 487 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1C6
- There are no steps at the entrance of the Japanese Language School, and an elevator with access to the upper floors. Public bathrooms are not available at this venue.
